A break

February 7, 2013

The best way for me to take a break from work is to go out for a walk with my camera on my own, to stroll down the streets and see what comes up (hopefully good coffee). It always broadens my mind and makes me think clearer. What do you do when you need to get inspired or just need to take a break?

same here! love to do that! usually i take one hour walk with my dog every day during the afternoon! it's amazing what can do for my sanity, inspiration and my overall mood, to stretch the legs, to laugh with him, to explore new places, to take my camera (either film or digital) and take one full hour for ourselves! no coffee usually though, but i do love a good coffee! hey i live in a country where we drink about 3 expressos a day!

I also do the same..sometimes, when I really need to think, i also leave my camera home – not to get distracted. I also love making small tours to explore something new (it maybe the next city, small village or an apple garden next door..

I browse the internet (my fav blogs), I go out to get some fresh air (not that I get a lot of inspiration from my city, it's small, dull and unattractive), a coffee perhaps or stop doing what I'm doing and do something else instead, like taking a shower!

gosh i'm always leaving unsubstantial comments, but i'm always just so happy to see your pictures.
it reminds me that there's creativity out there, anywhere, and beautiful things out there, even in the city.

Love love love your photos. They always make me feel like I'm there with you on your walk! I'm curious about the small glass of clear liquid we often see in your coffee photos…water? Or something else?

I just stand up in my (unfinished) garden whatching the olive trees and enjoying the wind… but sometimes I'd want to live in the city, especially looking at your photos.
    Thak you for sharing!

I do not have a routine in this cases, I think I mostly look at my favorite magazines/books or sites, if I am in the right mood I write my journal. I use to drink coffee that I love but recently found out I am intollerant to it (such sad news!!!) so nowadays it's tea. Your recent posts inpired me to develop a routine, something that works for me and maybe involves more regular breaks with fresh air. I use to walk more when I worked in the city center. Lunch breaks were excellent for that. Now that I work from home is a different story 🙂

Interesting to think about what make me inspired…I think i need to be alone, to ear music and go in my favorite mercerie to look all the ribbons and laces i could use for my future creations. Thank you to ask the question, it could be usefull to be conscious of it!
