Another country

GDR as a country lived for 41 years. These buildings (except the Bibliothek one) were built in the 1950’s, the early years of GDR. I can not get tired of looking at them.

But when you live in an ex-communistic country (in my case Romania), you really get sick and tired of that type of architecture and you long for something less geometrical, less tall, more pretty and colourful 🙂

I loved the Karl Marx strasse during my time in Berlin, the unity of the buildings is really impressive and good looking!

i love to live in a city that values it's history. (whether good or bad.) i live in a city that is constantly tearing down old buildings only to be replaced by shitty high rises. they are gaudy and cold and have no life.

I love all the patterns and lines these buildings have. I can't wait to see them all in person.
