– Johan, we should get ourselves an advent candlestick!
– Sandra, look this candlestick has 4 candles, let’s use it as an advent candlestick!
(See more traditional ones, as well as others, here)
My husband and I haven’t got much Christmas decorations, we have just recently started to collect them. Johan grew up not celebrating Christmas and I left almost all my decorations with my ex. Lizette the cat says she can be a Christmas cat and demands a red bow.

Thank you for the link, I really enjoyed learning more about your traditions.
love the candleholder
Oh so beautiful, those saffron buns. We're just starting our traditions too. I love your antler candleholder!
fina lussekatter. i loved lucia when i lived in sweden. all those little cute girls and their excitement. // and to my mind christmas decoration is highly overrated. i think a pretty star in the window and a lovely christmas tree is all you need.
her ghosts > i agree with you 🙂 i just don't have anything to put in a christmas tree as it is now, but i do love a "naked" tree too, as long as it smells good.
Thanks for the link! It's so nice to read about other countries' traditions. I love the idea of advent candles. This year I'm going to decorate simply and candles sound so nice. Also, my mom used to have a bottle of glögg in our kitchen cupboard for YEARS. I tasted some once when I was very young and hated it. I always want to give it another chance but am afraid to because of the memory. 🙂
Samantha > oh i know what you mean, you should try it again sometime. i didn't like it until i was about 13 years old 🙂
ha, how interesting… in our county traditionally advent candlesticks are in circle shape.
I wish you a happy warm Sunday, and I am looking forward of receiving your prints! 🙂
Happy first advent! I have never done the advent, but my boyfriend's family does. Since we moved away from home this year we are planning on doing it, except that we're having a hard time find a candle holder that holds 4 tapered candles *sigh* I love yours! Suppose to start it today so hopefully we can make-shift something maybe…
i want to make these buns this year too, i love their colour. i'm always late with christmas decorations and in the end i just put some candles everywhere 🙂
happy 1st advent!
emma > gött! här blire glögg och lusse NU! gonatt!
Lizette would make a fine Christmas cat!
i love your less traditional advent candles 🙂
nice fluffy 🙂
Happy 1st advent! I used to celebrate advent as a child, lighting the candles and going to mass every Sunday.
Thanks for the link!
Mm, ser fram emot min första lussebulle!
Var i Malmö i helgen och såg din affisch på Krets och postern "Numbers" på Liebling i Malmö. Ba de är ju Sandras 🙂
I love the idea of reinventing the advent candle tradition-
Hhmm… delicious lussekatter.
Have a nice week! 🙂
Nothing beats Christmas in Sweden! x
aaaw lovely!
oh, vad bra … med lussebullar 🙂
ovanlig ljusstake! är den egengjord?
We don't have the Advent tradition here, actually we have very little pre-Christmas traditions…
I usually decorate with pine branches in big vases and some candles around – keep it simple and save the trees.
The antler candlestick is perfect!
Lovely work…I think you'll sell a lot of wrist worms now!
In the Netherlands it is so very cold already!
Hi Sandra 🙂
I love that different Crhistmas style candlestick 😉
I made my Christmas tree today and, I swear, I though of you. I think you'll like it.
Great candle holder. Pretty cards too:)
Ah Lizette will look so festive with a red bow.
Why did Johan not celebrate growing up? I hope that is not too personal to ask you dear Sandra. I am just curious.
I returned to see if you answered but perhaps that was too personal and for that, I'm sorry. I just thought maybe he was Jewish.
